My Philosophy
Sadly, the wellness industry can be misleading at times, making false promises of quick fixes. This leads to health and wellness feeling complicated and overwhelming – no wonder so many struggle to know where to begin. I help cut through the noise of the health claims in the industry.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I help simplify health and wellness for women and families, rebuilding your health one small change at a time.
My approach is rooted in the belief that our bodies were perfectly designed to heal. They are always seeking balance so our goal is to discover the areas that need the most support, provide the body with what it needs, and over time the body can begin to be in balance and function more optimally.
I help sift through the overwhelm, crafting a method that rebuilds health and creates lasting change.
As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and holistic nutrition professional, I was trained to support optimal function of the body by assessing and addressing the health of the diet, digestive system, blood sugar regulation system, fatty acid status, mineral balance, and hydration levels.
I also incorporate analysis of lifestyle habits including sleep, stress, movement, and environmental considerations to provide holistic recommendations that help you…
Stop chasing symptoms and focus on what your unique body needs to thrive.
My Pillars for Health
Nutrient Dense Foods
Whole, thoughtfully prepared, foods are a source of joy and nourish the body with the nutrients it needs to thrive.
Blood Sugar Regulation
From energy balance, metabolism, and inflammation to hormone production and mental health, blood sugar regulation is crucial to maintaining wellness.
Optimal Digestion
What we eat has little impact if we can’t digest and absorb the nutrients. Proper digestive function is essential for the health of every cell and system.
Quality Sleep
Adequate, quality sleep is essential for optimal physiological and cognitive function. There’s not a single aspect of our day-to-day health that isn’t affected by our sleep habits.
Stress Management
We cannot always control our stressors, but managing our response to stress and using strategies to minimize the ones we can, has profoundly positive physical and mental impacts on health, including blood sugar regulation, digestion and sleep.
Movement for Life
Exercise is an important aspect of a healthy lifestyle and indicator of long term health.
“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.”

FAQ
What is Nutrition Therapy?
A functional, holistic approach to reclaiming health and restoring the body’s natural function with bio-individualized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. Nutritional therapists are trained to support optimal function of the body by assessing and addressing the health of the diet, digestive system, blood sugar regulation system, fatty acid status, mineral balance, and hydration levels, as well as analysis of lifestyle habits including sleep, stress, movement, and environmental considerations to provide holistic recommendations.
Who certifies Nutritional Therapy Practitioners?
The Nutritional Therapy Association or NTA has been around since 1997 with the primary goal of training healthcare practitioners in the practice of Nutritional Therapy. Addressing nutrition from a holistic perspective and reconnecting people to whole foods and vibrant health, the NTA is founded on the powerful connection that exists between the nutrients we receive from our food and the function and health of our bodies.
In the early years, the NTA’s instructor team taught nutritional seminars to thousands of medical practitioners throughout the United States and Europe. Students included medical doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and naturopaths.
In 2001, in partnership with South Puget Sound Community College, the NTA introduced the Nutritional Therapy Program and began training and certifying Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (FNTPs) and Nutritional Therapy Practitioners (NTPs).
It is the NTA’s mission to reverse the epidemic of preventable poor health by educating and empowering wellness champions in every community.
How is it different?
Through in-depth client interviews, intake assessments, nutritional analysis utilizing Nutri-Q and food and mood journals, NTPs provide bio-individual nutrition, lifestyle and supplement recommendations to help their clients achieve optimal health outcomes. NTPs are wellness champions in their community that empower clients with the knowledge, resources, and support necessary to reclaim health.
Will I have to take supplements?
Sarah takes a food-first approach, but at times supplements may be needed to support the body in getting back into balance. This is determined on an individual basis. That said, this is a partnership and while there may be recommended supplements, we can always discuss other options if that is preferred.
What if I am not ready to begin?
That is totally normal! You can sign up for my freebies and newsletter and continue to learn more and gather information. In fact, this is what I call I a “thinking goal”. When you are ready, you will know and I will be here for you!
How long until I feel better?
While I wish there was a simple answer for this, it truly depends on your unique health concerns, as well as your willingness to implement the recommendations for nutrition, lifestyle and supplementation. While many clients may feel better in a matter of a few weeks, it can take longer especially to establish new, healthier lifestyle habits. I recommend most client begin with a 3 to 6 month package and a willingness to commit to your health during that time. It often took years for us to get to where we are, so give yourself grace as you embark on this journey to rebuild your health.
